Priorities > Reducing MP Salaries
Canada's small businesses and the middle class are struggling now more than ever due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While residents of Kanata-Carleton are making less, our elected officials are still making the same amount they made before the pandemic and have even been given a raise. I believe that Members of Parliament should take a pay cut.
-
Members of Parliament earn a base salary of $182,600 per year. I believe that MPs should have their salaries reduced by $10,000 annually for the remainder of 2020 to 2021.
-
Freeze scheduled MP pay raises for the next four years.
-
Reduce the Member of Parliament Pension Plan by 3%.
